Sampling and measurement services

Water and Environmental Engineering Research Group has the expertise to implement a wide range of sampling, measurement and installation services. We have several years experience on sampling and equipment installations in challenging environments from offshore to waste waters. Four of our group members are certified in water sampling.

Blue-green algae warning system

It is possible to monitor the blue-green algae concentration continuously using a monitoring system specifically designed for that purpose. The system is based on optical sensors, which are fixed to the targets. They measure the blue-green algae concentration and temperature with a specified interval.

Continuous water quality monitoring

Water and Environmental Engineering Research Group has the expertise and equipment to perform water quality measuring and monitoring in a variety of environments from offshore to waste waters.

Sampling and analysis services

Water and Environmental Engineering Research Group has the required competence and equipment to perform standardized sampling and treatment of the samples. We cooperate with the education and research unit of Chemical Engineering in TUAS, which enables also laboratory analysis in the chemical laboratory of TUAS.

Benthos mapping

It is possible to estimate the ecological status, and the required protection and restoration actions, of a water body based on species composition of benthos samples. Water and Environmental Engineering Research Group implements benthos mapping in lakes, and fluvial and marine environments.

Equipment rental

Water and Environmental Engineering Research Group rents out equipment for investigation of the environmental state of the waters and the mapping aquatic organisms.

Following equipment are for rent:

  • Hans Grassl electric device for exploratory fishing
  • YSI/EXO multiparameter sonde
  • FlowTracker discharge measurement device
